More Family Fun

This family had requested a session before we even moved back to Indiana, and we finally arranged an evening a couple of weeks ago. Since they had such a long drive, we got started just as the sun was setting, and I had absolutely incredible light to work with. The kids were adorable and a pleasure to follow around. The whole session was fun, and moved fast as we lost the light. I'm really excited about what we captured!

Last weekend I packed up my camera and headed to a local park for some family pictures. Their daughter was a busy little gal, and I had a blast following her all over the place. Despite that it was the hottest day of the summer, I was quite excited about what I captured.

And I even got some awesome evening backlight!

And just like any little girl 18 months old, she let me know when she was over it!

Lately, I have been obsessing over 1940s pin up portraits. I adore the victory roll hairstyles, the red lips, and the color tones. Over the weekend, I had an opportunity to dabble in the vintage style, and absolutely love my results.

The 50% divorce rate in America is a depressing statistic, and it can almost make a person stop believing in marriage. But, I think the primary reason relationships fail is few couples are as blissfully in love as Britni and David. They are mad about each other, and it's contagious. Despite the obscene temperatures early in the morning and under shade trees, I managed to capture just how twitterpated this couple is. They got engaged the day I relocated to West Virginia, and I could hardly wait to get back to Indiana to photograph this adorable couple. Congratulations, you two!

This could be my favorite picture. They are so happy, and their affection is so obvious!

The wind project is complete! Homeward bound. The best time to photograph the turbines is just as the sun is coming up. Unfortunately, the fog was so thick at the magic hour, I could not even see them on the mountain ridge. I managed to get a couple that do not even compare with the beauty of the images my hubby took while standing on the top of the tower at sunrise. From his altitude, the fog is below, and the turbines appear to be floating. Despite my pleading, no one will allow me to climb a tower to get pictures. These will have to do, because I am heading HOME!

Once I calmed myself down from the hours of being lost and the grumpy stranger yelling at me, I walked through downtown and the capital grounds. I discovered an ice cream parlor, Ellen's Homemade Ice Cream, where the girl informed me everything was good, but I could have Heath 50% off. Delicious! There was a great bookstore, brightly painted outside and full of art displays inside. And, finally, it just seemed right to wander the war memorial on Memorial day weekend.
